DNREC offers many learning opportunities through public programming and events which highlight the importance of various natural, historical, and cultural resources in Delaware.

A major part of DNREC's mission is to provide educational opportunities to students on the historical, cultural, and natural significance of the environment. Creating a better understanding of the natural environment can inspire stewardship as well as protection and preservation of our historical and natural resources.

Connecting with Delaware's youth is so important for the future of the environment. A great way to get kids excited about learning is to go on field trips. DNREC organizes an extensive number of educational programs geared toward students of all ages and abilities, with many targeting specific grade levels to coordinate with school curricula.

Aside from field trips and classroom visits, DNREC holds and sponsors several events for students throughout the year.
